Cortisone is a steroid that is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It decreases inflammation in the joint and relieves pain. Cortisone injections can be use to treat arthritis and other acute or chronic conditions.
Hyaluronic acid is a lubricant that is a critical substance in normal synovial joint fluid. In arthritic joints, hyaluronic acid breaks down, resulting in joint pain and stiffness. Hyaluronic injections are used to treat arthritis, lubricating and cushioning joints. We use ultrasound to guide our injections for accurate delivery where they can do the most good.
